We are on board Vision of the Seas!
Well, hello everyone! It was quite a trip!
Our plane was supposed to leave Spokane at 6am...really left at 6:40 am and landed in Seattle at 7:40 am. We had a connecting flight at 8am...made it barely. But...our luggage did not. So....we went to the ship and just prayed that our bags got to Long Beach before we sailed at 6pm.
Alaska Airlines and Royal Caribbean were great...they did all they could and worked with us. They had a currier at the airport at 4:30pm when the plane landed...we got our luggage at 5:40 pm...20 minutes before we sailed...that was closer than I like. But I can't complain...we got it.
DJ and Austin are having a great time. The teen program and teen lounge is great. They have video games, music videos, swimming, scavenger hunt throughout the ship, rock climbing, etc. I hardly see them. They are having a ball!
Today, Monday, has been really rough at sea. We have had 12-20 foot waves and high winds. The ship has been rocking back and forth. It has taken some getting used to on my part... I have been in bed most of the day...trying not to get sick. They keep telling me to eat a green apple...at this point I am willing to try it! I am not the only one having a hard time. I have talked with several people who have sailed many times...they are having a difficult time, also. I guess we are pretty far out...they said when we get closer to shore it will not be so rough...I hope not!
I did get up early this morning and walk a couple of miles on the deck. Then went back to bed. Tomorrow will be a better day...we are in San Fran. I am really excited. The boys and I are going to go to Fishermans Warf and hopefully Alcatraz.
Well, thats it for now....
I will try to post pictures tomorrow...if not, then I will blog!
Have great week!
Gina
